Join us for a Year of the Horse celebration filled with great food, fun games, festive prizes, meaningful connections, and inspiring stories from our alumni.


We are delighted to have our alumni Dr. Arden and Dr. Mei as keynote speakers to share their medical volunteering experience where they achieved meaningful impacts and personal growth. They will share their journey from clinical teachers to missionary doctors in some remote corners of the world, including how it all started and what transpired in widening their perspectives from total health to global health.

About the speaker:

Both Drs. Arden Kwan and Mei Chow-Kwan graduated from the University of Hong Kong Faculty of Medicine in the 1980s followed by specialty trainings at Harvard and Tuft Medical Schools respectively.


Dr. Arden has practiced Nuclear Radiology for over 30 years in the Bay Area, focusing on cancer, cardiovascular and thyroid diseases. He has served in various leadership positions in a large health delivery system over the years. He has contributed extensively to medical education, mentoring medical students and teaching specialty trainees in radiology and cardiology both locally and remotely in Vietnam. He has been a leader in local and State medical societies and served on the boards of nonprofit community organizations.


Dr. Mei had over 30 years of internal medicine practice experience in the Bay Area, and was an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. She partnered with her husband, Dr. Arden in international medical service and education projects in Panama, Guatemala, Nepal, UK, Republic of Congo, the Philippines and northern Thailand. They also recorded radio and TV shows with local stations in the Bay Area and volunteer at local free clinics to help patients with no access to health care.
